Renting an apartment or villa is the best way to experience the real Morocco. Most Moroccans usually rent an apartment on vacation rather than stay at a hotel. Many people can rent through the internet, but keep in mind anywhere through the internet from sites such as homlidays.co.uk or airbnb.com one will be charged a price of a European not a Moroccan. This is usually at least 1000-1700 dirham ($120-$220 a night if you are lucky) through the online sites for a mid sized 2 bedroom apartment depending on the location. The best way to rent an apartment is through a property manager in Morocco. Luckily Tangier Tourism's Moroccan partner Ali has specialized in apartment rentals in Tangier exclusively for the past 7 years. Usually Ali's prices depend on the apartment location. They run from 600-800 dirham a night ($70-$100) for a mid sized 2 bedroom apartment depending on the location. These are the exact same apartments they rent to the Europeans for more.
