Renting an Apartment

Apartments on the Beachfront

Renting an apartment or villa is the best way to experience the real Morocco. Most Moroccans usually rent an apartment on vacation rather than stay at a hotel.  Many people can rent through the internet, but keep in mind anywhere through the internet from sites such as homlidays.co.uk or airbnb.com one will be charged a price of a European not a Moroccan.  This is usually at least  1000-1700 dirham ($120-$220 a night if you are lucky) through the online sites for a mid sized 2 bedroom apartment depending on the location.  The best way to rent an apartment is through a property manager in Morocco.  Luckily Tangier Tourism's Moroccan partner Ali has specialized in apartment rentals in Tangier exclusively for the past 7 years.  Usually Ali's prices depend on the apartment location.  They run from 600-800 dirham a night ($70-$100) for a mid sized 2 bedroom apartment depending on the location.  These are the exact same apartments they rent to the Europeans for more. What is personally suggested for tourists is to book a hotel the first night such as the Hotel Ibis Tangier City center  This way it's easy to write the address on the landing/customs forms and it's easy for the taxis to find where you are staying the first night.  From here one can view multiple apartment options Ali lines up and then make the selection on what is best for your needs.  Also please note most rentals in Morocco for the most part are paid for in cash at the time of receiving the keys, depending on the apartment they my require it in full or partial at the time.

To contact Ali directly please call him at +212-641-805-253 at any time. By telephone is the best way to reach him or you can email him at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , but it is best to call him.  Ali is fluent in English, Arabic, French, and Spanish.  He is also available as translator and guide which is highly suggested if you want to see the REAL MOROCCO.
